Spot Training
Spot Training is designed to address specific behavioral problems that go beyond the general commands being taught in a Basic Obedience Class. If you have a dog with a specific problem such as jumping on people, excessive barking, biting, digging, aggression or passive urination, we will gladly provide acceptable correction methods to address these issues.
Our Basic Obedience Class covers the following basics to ensure your canine will be a model four legged citizen:
-Heel on command
-Stay on command
-Come/Recall
-About Face
-Attention
-Controlled Walking
-Sit/Down
-Right/Left Turn
-Stand for Examination
-Two types of finishes
The Importance of Socialization
The goal is to condition your dog to adapt to the activities of every day life beyond the security of your own home. Once this has been accomplished, your dog will gain a new sense of confidence, security, and most of all will be more predictable.
Just like a person's apprehension in regard to making new changes in their behavior/life routine, your dog may also experience insecurity. They may be nervous in the beginning of socialization training, but eventually your dog will become more and more confident as time goes on.
Taking the time to socialize your dog is one of the greatest gifts you can give them. You will quickly see that your time and dedication has been well spent. A well socialized dog not only makes for a great community member, it also makes for a happy family.
